I Have Problems!!

Question: When you multiply 64.3 by 0.1, is the answer greater or less than 64.3?  Explain your answer.

Answer: Less Than!!  When you multiply by 0.1, it's the same as dividing by 10.  The product is only a part of the factor 64.3.


Question: Each student collected 78 aluminum cans.  There are 24 students in the class.  How many cans did the class collect?

Answer: 1,872 cans


Question: Max collected 80 aluminum cans.  If the typical weight of an aluminum can is 14.2 grams, how much did his cans weigh altogether?

Question: Explain how you know how many zeros will be in the product of 60 X 50?
